    • John, his eldest son, entered the regular army of the United States in 1795, and continued in it till the close of the War of 1812. He was lieutenant colonel in the northern army, was at the battles of Plattsburg, Fort George and other engagements on the northern line. He was a worthy man and a brave soldier. He left no descendants.
